Manchester City goalkeeper Karen Bardsley and Manchester United midfielder Katie Zelem have been drafted into the England squad for this month’s training camp as reported by The Football Association.
England were due to take on Norway at Bramall Lane in Sheffield in an international friendly fixture on Tuesday 1 December, however, the match was postponed due to travel complications for the visitors as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Lionesses boss Phil Neville will again field his squad against each other as ‘home’ and ‘away’ sides in two inter-squad friendly matches. England previously staged similar in-house friendly matches at St George’s Park during their September and October camps, the latter camp being ended early due to a positive COVID-19 test amongst the backroom staff.
It has been reported that the latest inter-squad friendly will take place at the bet365 Stadium in Stoke on Friday before a second practice match will be staged early next week.
England have not played a competitive fixture since they participated in the SheBelieves Cup in the United States in March.
