Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has angrily hit out at the fixture schedule for this season.

Marcus Rashford receives treatment after being fouled against Everton

Manchester United's medical staff will no doubt be watching on with interest during this international break.

The Reds, like most clubs involved in European competition, are counting the cost of a hectic schedule, which has resulted in an increasing amount of injuries.

It has led Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to furiously hit out at the fixture schedule this season, with under 60 hours between a long trip to Istanbul in the Champions League before facing Everton in a noon kick-off on the Saturday before the international break.

United are next in action against West Brom on Saturday night - here is how their injury list looks ahead of the game.

Marcus Rashford

Rashford suffered a shoulder injury late on in United's victory over Everton before the international break.

Whilst he was initially included in the England squad, he was subsequently forced to withdraw after missing the friendly victory over Ireland on Thursday night.

The injury is not thought to be serious, though, and the fact he was originally included in the England squad suggests that some rest may see him return to action with United pretty quickly.

Expected return date: November 21

Luke Shaw

Like Rashford, Shaw also picked up an injury in the win at Goodison Park as he limped off the pitch just past the hour mark with a hamstring injury.

Subsequent scans have revealed the extent of the injury and he is set to be out of action for at least a month.

What Solskjaer said: "We've got Luke Shaw injured today because we've been to Turkey, we've played loads of games already this season, we've been to Turkey on Wednesday night, back in Thursday morning and we're playing Saturday in a lunchtime kick-off, it's an absolute shambles."

Expected return date: December 12

Mason Greenwood

Greenwood missed the win over Everton due to illness as a stop-start beginning to the season continued.

The young attacker was left out of the England senior squad and was also not selected for the under-21s.

That was due to Manchester United asking for Greenwood to be rested due to a series of minor injuries and personal problems.

"It was felt from Man United that the best course of action was to sit out this one. He has had a lot of niggling injuries and a lot of things going on in his life," under-21s boss Aidy Boothroyd said of Greenwood's omission.

"At this moment in time he hasn't made this particular squad nor the senior squad but having worked with him and knowing the sort of player and character he is, I am sure he will bounce back and be in and around it come March, because he is a very good player."

What Solskjaer said: "He wasn't feeling well last night. Looked well in training but he reported last night he wasn't feeling well so can't travel."

Expected return date: November 21

Alex Telles

Telles has managed just one appearance for United since his summer signing due to a positive coronavirus test.

The left-back is now available again but was not selected for the Everton match, presumably a consequence of his self-isolation period.

Yet he came off the bench in Brazil's World Cup qualifying victory over Venezuela on Saturday, providing a left-back boost to United after Shaw's injury.

What Solskjaer said: "Alex has started training with us, which is good."

Expected return date: November 21

Eric Bailly

Injury-hit centre-back Eric Bailly suffered a hamstring setback during the last international break.

It ruled him out of action for United's last five matches, but he was included in the Ivory Coast squad for this international break, increasing hopes of an imminent return to fitness.

What Solskjaer said: "Eric won’t be available, Jesse won’t be available so we’ll manage without them for a few weeks I think.”

Expected return date: November 21

Jesse Lingard

Whilst Lingard has returned to training after an unspecified injury, he is yet to make an appearance since the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Brighton & Hove Albion in September.

There were hopes the attacking midfielder may appear against Istanbul Basaksehir but this did not come to pass.

With his only two appearances this season coming in the Carabao Cup, his future at the club remains uncertain.

What Solskjaer said: "Jesse has trained. We'll see if there is any reaction. He might be able to travel to Istanbul but we're not sure yet."

Expected return date: N/A

Phil Jones

The defender's last appearance came in an FA Cup win over Tranmere Rovers in January and his bad luck has continued with another injury, this time to his knee.

After missing out on both United's Champions League and Premier League squads, Jones will have to wait until next month at the earliest to play in the Carabao Cup.

What Solskjaer said: "[He's] working really hard to be back, hopefully, he'll get fit in December."

Expected return date: N/A
