Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he’s focused on being successful at Old Trafford and is not concerned about extending his deal at the club. The Norwegian is close to completing the second year of a three-year deal at the Theatre of Dreams and speculation has been rife in the last week that he’s set to sign an extension. Though Solskjaer is yet to lead United to silverware, the club have reached four semi-finals under the 47-year-old and the Red Devils are currently in second spot behind Manchester City. A 1-0 win against West Ham on Sunday night ensured United overtook Leicester City to go back into the runners-up spot and United are on course for back-to-back Champions League finishes for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
However, Solskjaer dismissed speculation that he’s set to sign a new deal imminently and says he’s focused on winning silverware at the club.
'My thoughts are very much on doing my job as well as I can, every single day,’ said Solskjaer after the victory against the Hammers.
United are through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, while their last-16 Europa League tie against AC Milan is delicately poised at 1-1 going into the second leg on Thursday.
Solskjaer hopes to have Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek and Paul Pogba back in contention for the trip to the San Siro. Martial and Cavani will certainly be fit, while Van de Beek and Pogba may have to wait until the weekend to step up their recoveries.
