Leeds United face Manchester United this weekend, but Marcelo Bielsa has delivered some bad news surrounding Adam Forshaw.
Forshaw hasn’t had a great time over the past two seasons.
A hip injury he sustained at the start of the 2019/20 season has kept him sidelined ever since.
It’s been around 19 months since Forshaw played a minute of senior football, with his last outing against Charlton back in September 2019.
The under-23s clinched the league title with a win over Aston Villa last week, and Forshaw took another step towards full fitness by playing 84 minutes.
However, ahead of the first-team clash against Manchester United this weekend, Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that the midfielder picked up muscle strain:
Rodrigo out of Sunday's game against Manchester United. Raphinha yet to train so is a major doubt.

Adam Forshaw picked up a muscle strain in last week's U23s game. No timescale on that yet. #lufc
It’s another really frustrating blow for Forshaw just as he looked like getting back up to speed.
Despite the news of other injuries, Forshaw’s dominated social media reaction…

As soon as we all got our hopes up, this happens.
It must be so hard for Forshaw to keep his spirits up when he’s dealing with this.
He’s been such a key player for us up until his injury, and it’s such a shame he hasn’t got a part to play at the moment.
While people might not agree, we looked a much worse side in midfield when Forshaw wasn’t there.
His passing and overall ball retention is something we have struggled to replicate without him.
Dare I say it, is he the Kalvin Phillips backup we need? Injury setbacks make that so much harder to answer though.
