Manchester United Supporters Trust meet with Boris Johnson regarding European Super League
The Manchester United Supporters Union (M.U.S.T) has revealed on Twitter that they met Prime Minister Boris Johnson regarding the controversial European Super League.
The Red Devils are among six Premier League clubs that have committed themselves to the breakaway competition. Fan groups across different clubs have since come out in united opposition against these proposals.

Immediately following the announcement on Sunday, M.U.S.T came out against the proposal, terming it unacceptable and shocking.

We told them football has never been so united and decisive action is needed to halt the Superleague proposals.
The organization has now met up with the Prime Minister and informed him that decisive action is required. Football today stands at a crossroads and decisions have to be made in order to maintain the integrity of the sport.
At the heart of the issue is the ownership conundrum. Foreign ownership attempts at making money often go against the values of the club and as Untied fans, it is something we are well aware of.
Fans have sought a permanent solution to his standoff and Johnson had agreed that the Government is eager to bring in change. Whether this means a 50+1 rule, as in the Bundesliga, will be implemented remains to be seen.

1/ We went on to explain to the Prime Minister that when the Superleague is stopped we need to find a permanent solution to the ownership conflict which is at the heart of these recurring moves to grab more cash and power for club owners.

2/ While actions speak louder than words we were struck by the strength of commitment from the Prime Minister who said whilst he is a staunch free marketeer "this proposal itself is anti-competitive and we should drop a legislative bomb to stop it - and we should do it now."

More Allies?
M.U.ST is now scheduled to have further meetings with both Jo Stevens, the Secretary of State for Digital Culture Media and Sport and Keir Starmer, Leader of the Labour Party.
They both have been vocal in their protests against the Super League and will do what they can to ensure this money grab remains a failed initiative.
4/ MUST will also be meeting shortly with @Keir_Starmer together with @JoStevensLabour who have been vociferous both in their opposition to the ESL and their backing for fans.

5/ There is a united mood on this matter in political circles and we hope to see cross-party support for decisive action now followed by real reform of the ownership and governance of our clubs
