Paul Pogba has lifted the lid on what it means to be a leader in the Manchester United dressing room.
The French midfielder, 28, is one of the most experienced members of the first-team squad at Old Trafford and was part of the team which last lifted silverware for the club almost four years ago.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking towards Pogba for motivation when his side host Roma in the Europa League semi-final first-leg on Thursday night as they look to end the season with a trophy to show for their work.
United's best football has coincided with Pogba's return to fitness over the last couple of months with the former Juventus midfielder leading by example with his performances on the pitch.
However, his footballing ability is not the only way he motivates his teammates to better themselves.
Speaking ahead of the first-leg with Roma the Frenchman has explained his leadership role at United and how he regularly look to push the squad in a positive direction.
"You can be a leader both on and off the pitch," he told Uefa.
"You speak with the young players and the whole squad to motivate them; and motivating my teammates motivates me in return. Whenever I see a team-mate training and working hard, that pushes me to train and reach my limits too.
"You need everyone to be involved if you want to succeed. You can’t win alone."
