Gary Neville told Super Sunday on Sky Sports that he is ‘sure’ West Ham will buy Jesse Lingard from Manchester United this summer.
The England international has just enjoyed a fruitful spell on-loan at West Ham, which has also caught the eye of those at Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta keen on bringing the quick-footed midfielder to North London.
The Sun did suggest that Arteta wants to bring the Manchester United star to Arsenal, but there’s no doubt that those at West Ham would have something to say about that.
Neville shared that Lingard cannot return to Manchester United’s bench given what has happened over these last few months and thinks he will head back to the London Stadium next season.
“I think if you are Manchester United now then you are looking at James, Lingard and Martial,” said Neville. “You are recouping there maybe £60-80 million depending on who comes in for them.
“I think Jesse now needs to play every week. He cannot go back to Manchester United’s bench from experiencing this.
“He’s a star there, so why not go there. I am sure West Ham will buy him for good money.”

The one issue that West Ham fans face is, are their owners willing to put money on the table for Lingard’s services?
They aren’t exactly known to splash the cash and if they act in their usual ways and take their time in getting such a deal over the line then others will pounce.
It would be a huge surprise if Lingard ended up at Arsenal, even though they need creative talent and goals from midfield, but a return to West Ham seems like the logical choice for his career, it’s just a case of the money being put on the table.
