An unconvincing Juan Mata performance vs Leicester City has left Man United fans feeling pretty disappointed.
Well, the title race is officially over, though if we’re being honest, it was done months ago. Leicester City came to Old Trafford and deserved to beat a seriously-weakened United team on the night.
The game itself was a pretty poor affair in truth. The United players looked like they’d never played together before, while several of them also lacked the match sharpness. Both factors were to be expected given the situation.
We could have highlighted several players for poor individual performances, though Juan Mata is the one that sticks out for us.

He just couldn’t get into the game. With a youthful front three ahead of him, it’s down to Mata to bring that cool head, veteran leadership, and general know-how. Sadly, he just doesn’t have it in him to do that these days.
It seems as though ahead of the summer window, the writing is on the wall for Mata. I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised to see him move on. Although it’ll be sad, it feels like the right footballing decision.
As you’d imagine, United fans were left disappointed, with many taking to Twitter to express their frustrations at the loveable Spaniard. One claimed it’s now time for him to leave this summer, which seems fair given how sparingly he’s been used.

I’d get Mata off for someone who doesn’t have arthritis

I’ve never seen Dot Cotton play football but I imagine it’s very similar to the way Juan Mata plays

The Hobbit Mata needs to come off, we’re basically playing with 10 men.
