Roy Keane and Paul Scholes have both taken aim at Dean Henderson following Man Utd's loss to Liverpool as they voice concern over the goalkeeper situation at Old Trafford

Roy Keane and Paul Scholes have both expressed concerns over Dean Henderson following Manchester United's defeat to Liverpool.

The goalkeeper has been criticised for his role in several of the goals shipped by the Red Devils.

Henderson has been able to usurp David de Gea as the club's No 1 but now finds himself under the spotlight.

His swift rise had seen calls for him to replace the Spaniard, but Keane has not held back in his assessment of the Englishman.

The Irishman is not convinced by his presence in between the sticks but conceded De Gea should not be recalled.

“He looks so small in the goals, that's my worry [over] Henderson," he said on Sky Sports.

Dean Henderson has been criticised after the Liverpool defeat

“He has a good mentality, good temperament and is good with his feet, but I've seen a few goals go in recently where he looks so small in the goals. He looked tiny there for the fourth goal.

“He has been given a run of games. Tonight he may look at it and go 'it's not my best night', but he needs a run of games.

“They can't go back to De Gea, I don't think that's the final answer either. He [Henderson] is going to make mistakes of course, but my worry is his presence.

“He looks so small, which is a big concern going forward.”

Roy Keane has doubts over the Man Utd goalkeeper
Scholes believes Henderson was responsible for three of Liverpool's four goals at Old Trafford.

The former United man backed the decision to give the 24-year-old a chance in goal but reckons a big decision lays ahead.

He told Premier League Productions: "The goalkeeper situation is a big worry. I felt the timing was right to give Henderson a chance but he hasn’t convinced me yet.

"If De Gea is leaving do they need a No.1 or a No.2? I wanted Dean to do well, but I think he’s been at fault for three of the goals tonight."
