In the end, it was pretty comfortable for the two English sides at home. Manchester City beat PSG 2-0 to advance 4-1 on aggregate, Chelsea beat Real Madrid 2-0 to advance 3-1 on aggregate. So, ahead of an all English UEFA Champions League final, here are the best stats from the second leg of the semifinals --

This is the lowest Expected Goals total that Real Madrid have had in a UCL match under Zinedine Zidane.

Thomas Tuchel became the first manager in the history of the European Cup to reach the final in consecutive seasons with different clubs.

This is Chelsea's 3rd European Cup final (lost on penalties in 2008, won on penalties in 2012). That's the 3rd-most Cup finals appearances by an English club (Liverpool 9, Manchester United 5).

Chelsea are now unbeaten in 5 games against Real Madrid - the longest Madrid have gone without beating a side in European competition. Chelsea are, though, only the 2nd club to go unbeaten in 5 straight UEFA competition games against Madrid. The first was Lyon, who didn't lose 7 straight from Sept. 2005 to Feb. 2011.

This is Chelsea's 18th clean sheet in 24 games since Tuchel took over on Jan 27, 2021. That would be 5 more than any other team from Europe's top 5 leagues in all comps during the span.

PSG are only the 2nd team since 2010-11 to fail to record a shot on target in a Champions League semifinal, after Bayern Munich (May 6, 2015 vs. Barcelona). Of course, Pep Guardiola was managing Munich at the time.

Meanwhile, this is the first time PSG have failed to record a shot on target in a UEFA or league game since Nov. 27, 2011.

For the third straight year, the UCL final will include a team making its European Cup final debut -- this year, that's Manchester City.

In the UCL era (since 1992-93), the last 7 teams to make their European Cup final debut lost. The last team to win on debut? Borussia Dortmund in 1997.

Pep Guardiola ends a run of four consecutive UCL semifinals being eliminated. He won the title each of the two times he reached the final.

Manchester City's 7 straight wins in the competition represents the longest UCL win streak by an English club. They'll look to join Dortmund, Barcelona (2x), Bayern Munich (2x) and Real Madrid as the only clubs in UCL history to win 8 straight.

Manchester City are the 9th different English club to reach the European Cup/UCL final, 3 more than any other country (Germany and Italy both with 6).

Manchester City are the first English side to win 11 games in a single European Cup/Champions League campaign. They are one win off equaling the record of 12 wins by Real Madrid in 2001-02

This is the third All-England matchup in the UCL final after 2019 (Liverpool 2 - 0 Tottenham) and 2008 (Manchester United 1 - 1 Chelsea, United won on pens). Only Spain have had as many same-nation finals (2000 - Real Madrid beat Valencia, 2014 & 2016 - Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid).

Pep Guardiola will look to join Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti and Bob Paisley as the only managers with 3 European Cup titles. Guardiola would join Ancelotti as the only managers who have won 2 titles with one team and 1 title with another.

Both Chelsea and Manchester City have conceded just four goals in reaching the UEFA Champions League final. This is the first time the final will be contested by two teams who both conceded four or fewer on their way to the final since 2005-06 (Arsenal, 2 & Barcelona, 4).

Both Chelsea and Manchester City enter the final with 8 clean sheets. The last two finalists to enter the final with at least 8 clean sheets was 2015-16, when Real Madrid had 10 and Atletico Madrid had 8.
