Lingard to start against Austria
Jesse Lingard is set to start England’s first friendly against Austria tomorrow night despite being cut from the final 26 man squad ahead of the European Championships.

The on-loan Manchester United midfielder has had a fantastic second half of the season, scoring nine times to help lift West Ham United into the Europa League qualification places.
However, his form was not enough to see him into the EURO squad, although he will surely be on the standby list in case injuries occur.
Despite being left out of the Euros squad, Jesse Lingard is set to start in England's upcoming friendly match against Austria.

Fountain of youth:
While Lingard will be disappointed to miss out, England fans will be excited by the amount of young attacking quality on show in Southgate’s squad.
Phil Foden and Mason Mount will be returning from Porto having contested the Champions League final three days ago, whilst Jadon Sancho has been in brilliant form for Borussia Dortmund, helping the German side qualify for the Champions League next season.
Added to this is the quality of Jack Grealish, who has been handed the iconic number 7 shirt for the tournament. The wide midfielder is coming off the back of another strong season for Aston Villa, and is expected to play a big role in any success that England have this summer.
Further down the pecking order, Bukayo Saka has been favoured largely due to his versatility, having played across the front line and at left wing-back for Arsenal this season.
So here it is, England's squad ahead of #euro2020

By my estimation 🏴 have the youngest squad of all announced so far, with an average age of 24.8 years and the youngest selection of midfielders + forwards too pic.twitter.com/TWmJqxwryQ
Saka is joined in the squad by fellow teenager Jude Bellingham, who impressed watchers of the Bundesliga this season and performed well when given the chance in the England side recently.
However, with Mount, Foden, Rashford and Raheem Sterling all yet to join up with the squad after their domestic commitments, the friendlies represent a chance for Lingard to prove to Southgate that he made a mistake not choosing the Manchester United midfielder.
